Australian Cashmere is a unique Fibre. Research has found that Australian Cashmere is softer, longer, whiter and has less grease, soil and skin particles than Cashmere of similar micron (McGregor). While all of these attributes allow for a higher quality finished garment, it’s the increased softness that makes Australian Cashmere a truly special fibre.
Australian Cashmere ranges between 11-18.5um but has a low curvature which decreases its resistance to compression. This basically means that Australian cashmere will brush against skin rather than irritating it. The low curvature in Australian Cashmere is related to the high nutritional management and selective breeding.
